PRESENTACIÓN DEL PRODUCTOR DE APOYO/SUPPORT PRODUCTOR'S PRESENTATION

El productor que ofreció ayudarnos es el agricultor Carlos Ocola Arenas que se dedica al cultivo de cochinilla y se encuentra asentado en la Irrigación San Isidro segundo asentamiento (distrito de la joya); cuyos predios están numerados con el 2C-89 y 2B-79. Los dos suman 6 hectáreas de terreno de las cuales aproximadamente 3 hectáreas se encuentran con el cultivo de tunas para el desarrollo del insecto, esta parte de la región donde se encuentran ambos predios es muy apropiada para el cultivo de este insecto ya que presento un clima benigno y las tierras tienen compuestos químicos especiales que apoyan a la proliferación de la cochinilla. Por ello la mayor parte de tierras aptas para el cultivo en esta irrigación se encuentran sembradas de tuna.

El productor nos comento que empezó a cultivar la tuna hace 5 años, los primeros años fue muy difícil ya que no es un cultivo que se puede manejar fácilmente debido a las espinas y a que este aun no era intensivo.

Ahora hay mayor información sobre como llevar el cultivo esto en cuanto a los abonos, insecticidas, foliares, los periodos de aplicación de estos, las estaciones en las cuales se debe infestar las tunas con el insecto y también los periodos en los que se debe recoger o cosechar.
